Inupiat artist Qalayauq is known for his use of unique materials and original renditions of traditional Native life and the wildlife of the Northwest Arctic. He creates one of a kind sculptures from extinct mammoth bone, mammoth teeth, whale bone, birch wood, yellow & red cedar, whale baleen and walrus ivory, among other traditional and non-traditional materials.
